Why not write it out in E major? C# is the relative minor of E...but it is the same key signature as E. I thought the convention for noting key signatures was major, the relative minor is automatic.

It's a blues in C# (Major). The E on C#7 is theoretically not correct, it's a #9 and thus should be a D##, but that made it just harder to read.
I know that most musicians (including myself) think minor blues pentatonic while playing, but that doesn't change the fact that the chord is C#7#9.

I'm also aware that I'm not very consistent in this ;)
